| The Four Noble Truths are the foundation of Buddhism: | 四圣谛是佛教的基础。 | |
| 1. Dukkha (Suffering) — Life inherently involves suffering, dissatisfaction, and impermanence. | 一、苦谛:人生中充满苦难和不满足。 | |
| 2. Samudaya (Origin) — Suffering arises from craving, attachment, and ignorance. | 二、集谛:苦难源于执念、贪婪和无知。 | |
| 3. Nirodha (Cessation) — Suffering can be ended by letting go of craving and uprooting ignorance. | 三、灭谛:通过放弃执念和贪婪,可以消除苦难。 | |
| 4. Magga (Path) — The Eightfold Path (right view, resolve, speech, action, livelihood, effort, remembering + applying Dhamma, and undistractible-lucidity) is the way to end suffering and realize nirvana. | 四、道谛:八正道是消除苦难、证得解脱的道路。 |
